As pastor of our parish community, after my announcement a month ago to merge the Sunday morning 8:30 and 10:30 Masses into one 9:30 a.m. Mass, as we have celebrated for at least three summers, I would like to thank all of you who shared your personal affirmations or concerns on this issue through the survey on-line, written responses, emails, and texts. I hope and trust that I listened charitably and remained open to all the comments I received. I also want to thank our music ministers and other parish ministry coordinators who revised their liturgical ministry schedules to accommodate this change as well.
Of those parishioners who responded to my invitation for input, almost 70% of the total participants responded affirmatively in support of my pastoral decision to make this mass time change. Including all the pros and cons, and with the respect owed to all opinions, as pastor, I still believe my decision on this matter is for the best of our entire parish at this time. So, I would like to announce that our parish will continue to celebrate only one Sunday morning Mass (in English) at 9:30 a.m. All our other Masses (in English and in Spanish) currently scheduled will remain the same. For Easter and Christmas, more Masses will be scheduled to accommodate our parish's needs.
