From time to time, the Church has listed certain specific duties of Catholics. Some of these duties are based obligations we have as Catholics and are known as precepts of the Church.
The Precepts of the Church:
You shall assist at Mass on Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation
You shall confess yours sins at least once a year
You shall humbly receive your Creator in Holy Communion at least during the Easter season
You shall keep holy the Holy Days of Obligation
You shall observe the prescribed days of fasting and abstinence
You shall observe the marriage laws of the Church
You shall join in the missionary spirit and apostolate of the Church
You shall provide for the material needs of the Church according to your means
